Whey Protein Complex Whey protein powder is an excellent source of protein, even surpassing whole egg, soy, beef, casein or milk in its biological activity in the body and its ability to deposit nitrogen in the muscles. Whey is also a rich source of branched chain amino acids (BCAA), which make up 1/3 of the amino acids in muscle protein. Whey is the only protein source (besides breastmilk) that contains immunoglobulins, which are essential in maintaining immune system function. Our Whey Protein Powder is a high quality protein supplement that is formulated to be a highly efficient, rich source of protein.
Why This Formula?
We have recently changed to a domestic source – the whey is from milk cows raised right here in the USA, in Wisconsin. These cows come from smaller farms, have access to grazing in fresh pasture and are not treated with rBGH (recombinant bovine growth hormone). The soy used for easier mixing is non-GMO, analytically confirmed to be GMO free by DNA-level testing.
Protein is the building block of every tissue in the human body. It is composed of amino acids which are used in every metabolic process, even the making of your DNA. Many of these amino acids can actually be manufactured in small quantities by the body, but nine of them cannot. These 9 amino acids are known as “essential amino acids” because it is essential that you get them through your diet. ϯ
While the average American may tend to overeat, their nutritional status is not good. The diet is often lacking in proper nutrients and may not have enough protein. This is especially important with particular populations including the elderly, pregnant women, people who exercise frequently and in vegetarians. ϯ
