Vitamin B12 is important for energy, red blood cell formation and proper nervous system function.
As Vitamin B12 is water soluble and cannot be made by the body, it must be replenished through the diet. Unfortunately many people do not eat enough foods that are high in Vitamin B12 and need supplementation, and people who are elderly or follow a vegan or vegetarian diet are at special risk for deficiency. ϯ Below you will find knowledge and information to help you learn how adding a B12 supplement to your diet may support your healthy lifestyle.

Active-Methyl B12 Lozenge
Vitamin B12 is a water soluble vitamin that is deficient in many Americans. It is necessary for the conversion of homocysteine, a damaging byproduct of protein metabolism, into the methylated form so that it can be removed from the body. Vitamin B12 is found in two forms: cyanocobalamin and methylcobalamin. Cyanocobalamin is used in injectable form but is not as easily absorbed as the more active methylcobalamin contained in Active-Methyl B12 Lozenge. ϯ
Why This Formula?
All aVivoPur products contain ingredients sourced from natural products. Unlike most commercially available Vitamin B12 supplements which contain the cyanocobalamin form, Active-Methyl B12 contains methylcobalamin, a more easily absorbed Vitamin B12 supplement. We have formulated it into a lozenge which, when dissolved in the mouth, allows more of the vitamin to be absorbed through the mouth lining and giving you more usable Vitamin B12 than most other supplements. ϯ
About Vitamin B12
Vitamin B12 is important for the proper functioning of the nervous system and blood supply. Deficiency can lead to pernicious anemia which is more common amongst the elderly and in vegetarians. As it is water soluble and cannot be made by the body, it must be replenished through the diet. Unfortunately many people do not eat enough foods that are high in Vitamin B12 and need supplementation. ϯ
Vitamin B12 has been used to treat or prevent:
- Gastric disturbance ϯ
- Pernicious anemia ϯ
- Intestinal disturbances ϯ
- Immune system disorders ϯ
- Malabsorption issues (acid reducing drugs, alcoholism, intestinal removal surgery) ϯ
Vitamin B12 is present in high amounts in dairy products, eggs, and meats. For this reason, Vegetarians, and particularly vegans are more likely to become deficient. Elderly people are also more likely to become deficient as geriatric diets are often limited. In addition, deficiency of B12 may be more apparent in the elderly as the nervous system and cardiovascular systems may already be compromised due to aging or medical conditions. ϯ
Vitamin B12 is found in animal products but to get the same amount of the vitamin contained in Active-Methyl B12, you would have to eat 40 ounces of clams, 150 servings of fortified cereal, or 133 pounds of sirloin (beef). ϯ
