Rheumatoid Arthritis & Magnetic Therapy

I am 23 years old and I've had Rheumatoid Arthritis for the last four years. At moments it's been rough and sometimes completely terrifying.

Before being diagnosed I ran marathons, joined our local horse posse, enjoyed snowboarding, bought a boat and then took up wakeboarding.

I was prepping for the Wasatch Back Ragnar, a 200 mile relay race across some of the most beautiful parts of Utah, when I started to notice something wasn't right. Suddenly my hands and elbows were swollen and daily tasks hurt. I also had intense pain in the back of neck.

After visiting the clinic where my pain was written off as bad posture or aches from work I was finally referred to specialist who confirmed that I had Rheumatoid Arthritis.

I knew that Arthritis ran in my family, but I was shocked. How could I go from running to being trapped in a brittle body. Wasn't I supposed to be stronger than that? Was I broken?

Rhuematoid Arthritis causes the body's immune system to betray its purpose and attack itself and slowly destroy the joints and the lining surrounding them.  RA is a rather invisible illness. You wouldn't know it by looking at me, but I struggle to comb my own hair, open jars, hold my nieces, or go out on a boat during a flare.

I have tried many things including

  • Methotrexate
  • Steroids
  • essentials oils
  • salt baths
  • unofficial foot zonings
  • massage therapy
  • Biologic Medicine.
I have also made a lot of mistakes.
  • I downplayed symptoms to the doctor.
  • I would occasionally skip taking my medicine when I couldn't handle the thought of injecting painful hot lava into my veins.
  • I continued to do activities that put me in higher risk for joint related injuries.
  • I even decided to boycott sleep when a exhausting but thrilling job demanded it. That same job lead me to a fast food diet and poor nutrition. I did whatever I felt like it and let my body deal with the consequences.
It took a while for me to realize that I was responsible for my own body, and I was choosing to be a victim.

720-23.jpgDuring one of my worst flare ups (and most illogical moments) I was lucky enough to receive the aVivoPur® magnetic elbow sleeves as a gift.

When I first saw them I was very hesitant and unsure about about them. However, I was hurting and I trusted the aVivoPur® team enough to look out for me.

It's funny how great things happen despite myself! I wish I could tell you that they made everything go away and suddenly I was back to wake boarding and running adventures. That has not happened. But they did help.

At first I just wore them at night. I noticed that after using them my mornings were less painful and I was able to recover faster. Things were getting better and easier. I started wearing them regularly after that.

The magnetic therapy sleeves secure my arms and save me from the pain of suddenly being jolted around. They help keep the swelling down and provided a comforting sense of warmth to my most painful areas. It's been great to see my healing boosted by something so natural.

The more I learn about magnetic therapy and the cumulative effects of continuing to use it on a regular basis, the more optimistic I am for my future. I am grateful to have come across the aVivoPur® magnetic therapy elbow sleeves, and encourage anyone with pain issues to give it a try.

I was blessed to receive these as a gift but no one could pay me enough to give them up!
